Initial inspection
When your rug is picked up in your home or dropped off at an affiliate location it will be measured, tagged, and inspected for pre existing conditions and a quote for cleaning may be given.
When your rug arrives at our facility it will be given a detailed inspection and measured. A cleaning specialist will thoroughly inspect your rug to determine the best methods to use. We will report back to you any concerns or further discovery we make regarding your rug
Compressed air dusting
Using compressed air we dust the rug on both sides. This rug cleaning step is very gentle and highly effective at removing dry soils including dust, dirt, pet dander, dead skin and other microscopic particles that reside in the rug.
Rug washing
Your rug is then washed in cold water using a plant based neutral ph cleaner. Rugs that have been damaged with pet urine will be pretreated to neutralize and kill the odor causing bacteria present in the urine. Other spots and matter will be pretreated as needed as appropriate.
Rug rinse
Your rug will be rinsed to purge the soils and other matter that the cleaning solutions have attacked to insure there are no residues remaining.
Grooming
The nap will then be groomed with a horsehair brush to finish the appearance and give your rug a soft feel.
Drying
Your rug is then dried in a gentle controlled environment overnight.
Post cleaning inspection
The rugs are inspected and vacuumed. This is also the time when you may choose to have optional protectors such as wool fiber treatment to repel insects that can attack your rug or apply stain protectors.
Rudy’s also sells premium rug padding to protect your rug from unneeded wear and tear and to add dimensional stability to the rug and keep it from sliding on your floor or wall to wall carpet.
You are then called to pick up your rug or to set up a delivery date.
