Pet Stains on Your Rug? Don’t Panic!

02/27/2013 by kevin

Customers who bring us rugs that have been soiled by their beloved pet often make matters worse by trying every cleaner they have at home and or remedy found on the internet. When one doesn’t work they try another and then another and before they know it the spot is loaded with lots of substances none of which will do the job. I like to remind customers that wool is sheep hair and to think about what they would put on their hair. I don’t know about you but I would not wash my hair with oxyclean or resolve

Follow these simple steps when your poodle doodles on your rug.

1 Locate the area

2 If urine is wet (just occurred or very recent) dilute the area with cool water and suck out with a vacuum that picks up water or shop vac.

If urine is dry and smelly saturate the area with white vinegar (yes I it use on my hair) then rinse as above.

3 Bring your rug to Rudy’s, for a thorough washing not a steam clean or someone’s fathers secret formula and a surface clean. Would you wipe the top of your slacks off and be satisfied that they were clean?

Next time we will talk about thoseā€ miracleā€ enzyme cleaners for pet urine removal
